How to translate EPUB and PDF ebooks with TranslateEPUB.
What is TranslateEPUB?
TranslateEPUB is an online EPUB and PDF translator. Upload a book, preview the first pages free on your first upload, then unlock the full translation with credits.
Quick start
- Open the homepage upload form.
- Choose an
.epubor.pdffile (up to 50MB). - Set Source Language (default Auto Detect) and Target Language (default Chinese).
- Click Start Translating.
- You will be taken to the job workbench for preview, full translation, and download.
Free preview
Your first upload includes a limited free preview of the opening pages. Full-book translation uses credits. Preview pages do not consume credits.
Credits and pricing
- About 1 credit ≈ 1,000 source words.
- A ~100,000-word book uses about 100 credits.
- Buy one-time credit packs on the Pricing page. No subscription required.
Supported files
- EPUB: text-based EPUBs work best.
- PDF: text-based PDFs are supported; image-only scans may need OCR first.
- DRM-protected or empty/image-only books cannot be parsed.
Download
When a full translation finishes, download the EPUB from the job workbench. Signed download links expire after 24 hours; you can also manage saved copies under Settings → Translations.
